Felicia Beltran, A05

Felicia Beltran’s journey is one defined by grit, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to service. A 2005 Mass Communications alumna of Colorado State University Pueblo, Felicia’s story reflects the power of finding your voice and using it to open doors for others.

One of the most formative experiences of Felicia’s time at CSU Pueblo came through her work in the External Affairs Office with Cora Zaletel. As a member of the Identity Task Force, she collaborated with community leaders and business owners during the university’s transition from USC to CSU Pueblo. Helping present recommendations to the chancellor was both humbling and empowering, giving Felicia her first true sense of influence and civic voice.

At the same time, Felicia was navigating college as a non traditional student, a single mother of two young boys, balancing coursework, employment, and survival. Originally pursuing medicine, she made the difficult decision to change paths when she realized that journey would take her too far from the people she was fighting for most. Switching to Mass Communications proved to be a turning point, building her confidence, sharpening her communication skills, and ultimately changing the trajectory of her life. The mentors, friendships, and lessons from that chapter continue to shape her personally and professionally.

Felicia credits her Mass Communications degree with preparing her in ways that extend far beyond the classroom. From strategy and storytelling to reading a room and navigating complex relationships, the skills she developed at CSU Pueblo are tools she uses daily. Though real estate may appear transactional on the surface, Felicia sees it as marketing, leadership, negotiation, and influence at its core. Her education gave her a competitive edge long before she realized how essential it would be.

Today, Felicia serves as the Colorado Designated Broker for a national brokerage, a national speaker, and a growth strategist. She leads teams, advises brokers, helps shape policy, and supports large scale industry growth. She has earned national recognition as a top producing agent, including being ranked among the nation’s top professionals and receiving numerous industry honors. While a degree was not required to enter real estate, she firmly believes it elevated how far, and how fast, she was able to climb.

Service remains central to Felicia’s work. She has served on multiple boards, spoken on national stages, and contributed to leadership and compliance initiatives across the real estate industry. Locally, she is deeply committed to the Pueblo community, serving on the boards of CASA of Pueblo, the Pueblo Hispanic Education Foundation, and the Pueblo Latino Chamber of Commerce. Her involvement with the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals and recognition as a Top 250 Latino Agent have allowed her to amplify Hispanic voices in an industry where representation matters.

As Colorado President of the Residential Real Estate Council, Felicia continues to advocate for higher standards in leadership, education, and professionalism statewide. Above all, she is proud to model a life of service and excellence for her four children, Isiaiah, Diego, Xavier, and Desirae, as well as her granddaughter, Isla. She believes contribution is not just a choice, but a privilege.

Felicia remains closely connected to the ThunderWolf community. She still attends CSU Pueblo games, football, wrestling, and beyond, and takes pride in seeing programs she once advocated for return and thrive. Celebrating the unforgettable Division II national championship remains a particularly proud moment. With a signed football from that season still in hand, she carries CSU Pueblo with her into every boardroom, every stage, and every new chapter.

Her advice to today’s students and recent graduates is clear and powerful.

Do not wait for permission. Say yes to the things that stretch you. Protect your integrity like currency, and never let temporary setbacks convince you your dreams have an expiration date. Grit beats talent when talent gets comfortable.

At the heart of Felicia Beltran’s journey is a simple truth she lives by every day. A meaningful life will always outshine a successful one.
