Reid Weber, A13

Reid Weber’s journey at CSU Pueblo was anything but traditional, and that’s exactly what makes it inspiring. A Pueblo native, Reid started college right out of high school but stepped away early on. A few years later, as a young father and full-time restaurant manager, he returned to CSU Pueblo with a grant in hand and a renewed sense of purpose. Balancing work, family, and school, he pushed through and graduated in 2013 with dual degrees in Business Management and Spanish.

“My time at CSU Pueblo taught me time management, professionalism, and helped me build meaningful relationships with professors and classmates,” Reid shared. “I’m really proud of the hard work it took to get those degrees.”

Today, Reid works as a Financial Advisor with New York Life, where he helps individuals and families plan for retirement and build generational wealth. He credits his education, particularly the foundational lessons in entrepreneurship, accounting, and persistence, for preparing him to serve his clients effectively.

Beyond his professional life, Reid is deeply invested in giving back to his hometown. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for several local organizations, including the Latino Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Pueblo County, Sangre de Cristo Arts Center, Mariposa Center for Safety, and the Pueblo Day Nursery Children’s Foundation.

Reid encourages current students to take full advantage of campus life. “Get involved. I didn’t do much beyond attending class, and while I made good connections, I realize now how much more there was to gain. The connections I made then, still serve me today in my business and in the Pueblo community.”

Even after graduation, Reid stays connected to the Thunderwolf community. “I run into fellow alumni all the time. Many of them are now my clients, coworkers, or volunteer partners. There is a real sense of camaraderie among us.”

Reid’s story is a testament to perseverance, purpose, and pride in both his education and his community.
