Serenity bouchard

Serenity Bouchard, student majoring in social work at CSU Pueblo, embodies resilience, determination, and compassion. Her journey, marked by challenges and triumphs, is a testament to the power of education and the support of generous scholarships, such as those provided by the Leading the Legacy giving society.

Raised by a single-parent mother who became a parent at a young age, Serenity learned the value of perseverance and resilience from an early age. Despite facing financial constraints, her mother provided her with a nurturing and loving environment, instilling in her the belief that with hard work and dedication, anything is achievable.

Serenity‘s work ethic and drive became evident when she began working at the age of sixteen, quickly rising to the position of assistant manager at a grocery store deli. This experience not only honed her leadership skills but also instilled in her a strong sense of responsibility and determination to excel in all her endeavors.

However, Serenity‘s journey took a drastic turn when she survived a near-fatal car accident. In the face of adversity, she displayed remarkable strength and resilience, defying the odds to reclaim her life and aspirations. Her tenacity and unwavering spirit in overcoming this traumatic experience underscore her resilience and determination.

It is through these experiences that Serenity discovered her calling in social work. Having witnessed firsthand the challenges and struggles faced by individuals with disabilities and those from marginalized backgrounds, she is driven by a deep-seated desire to make a meaningful difference in their lives. Serenity‘s past experiences, both the good and the bad, have shaped her empathy and understanding, fueling her commitment to serving others with compassion and empathy.

Receiving the scholarships from the Leading the Legacy giving society and the Daniels Fund Boundless Opportunity award have been instrumental in Serenity‘s academic journey, providing her with the financial support and resources needed to pursue her dreams. With the help of these scholarships, she is able to fulfill her aspirations of becoming a social worker, equipped with the knowledge, skills, and determination to effect positive change in the lives of others.

In her pursuit of social work, Serenity aims not only to support individuals facing adversity but also to help them to overcome obstacles and thrive. Drawing from her own experiences of resilience and perseverance, she aspires to be a beacon of hope and inspiration for her clients, guiding them towards a brighter and more fulfilling future.
