Ryan Jones, A23

Ryan Jones, a 2023 graduate of the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences program, found his path at CSU Pueblo after transferring from Otero Junior College. With a concentration in Mass Communications, Ryan was inspired by his background as a volunteer firefighter and an idea of becoming a Public Information Officer. His interest in communication, storytelling, and public service naturally aligned with his academic journey.

While attending CSU Pueblo, Ryan embraced campus life fully. He joined the cheer team despite having no prior experience. He and a friend were attending a basketball game when Coach Vonnie spotted them and encouraged them to try out. Ryan decided to take the risk, and it quickly became one of the most rewarding experiences of his college career. He also worked for the parking and safety office, where he gained valuable experience supporting the campus community.

Since graduating, Ryan has channeled another long-standing passion into a thriving business. What started as washing cars in high school eventually grew into Suds Auto Spa, and today it has evolved into Radiant Luxe Detailing, a premium car care service. Based in Denver, Ryan is now planning to expand the business to Florida to connect with a new market and build a year-round clientele. He hopes to continue growing Radiant Luxe Detailing for many years while also keeping the possibility of pursuing a PIO role, or similar, in the future.

One of Ryan’s favorite memories from CSU Pueblo was the opportunity to study global communication on a ship for an entire semester. Through a partnership with CSU, he participated in Semester at Sea. Traveling across different countries gave him a firsthand look at how media, communication, free speech, and even advertising vary around the world. The experience broadened his perspective and confirmed his belief in taking bold steps forward.

Ryan stays connected to CSU Pueblo through the friendships he built as a student and through social media. His advice to current students is simple. If you have a passion for something, dive in and do it. Do not get cold feet. You never know where your courage might take you.
